MB OIL When Kiel Bros Oil went looking for a minority buyer for their lube oil and tank wagon business, Steve Murphy saw the opportunity he was looking for. A former sales manager with a communications firm, he joined forces with Junior Bridgeman to form MB Oil in August 1999. MB Oil distributes BP, Exxon and Marathon lubricants and motor fuels. The company has experienced significant growth since its inception in 1999. Certified as a Minority Business Enterprise by KMSDC in November 1999, MB Oil is the only minority-owned oil and lube company in this region. "MB Oil has made a fast dynamic business presence in our community," states Angie McDonald-Hackett with the City of Louisville. "I was pleased that in their first year of operation MB Oil was able to get a fuel contract with the City of Louisville." In addition to providing products to BP stations, several trucking and service centers, and industrial companies, MB Oil also supplies products to several area golf courses, including The Polo Fields Golf and Country Club (site of this year's KMSDC Golf Scramble on August 6). During the 2000 PGA Tournament at Valhalla, MB Oil kept PGA and CBS vehicles moving by providing the fuel/oil. "When the PGA Tournament Operation Staff met MB Oil they felt that we could certainly use their services," said Ernie Ellison, Director of Business & Community Relations for the PGA. "I am pleased to say that as expected, their services were great. When we return to Valhalla for the Senior PGA Championship in 2004 and the Ryder Cup Matches in 2007 we will again contact MB Oil to support these events." In an effort to fulfill their mission to "give our existing customers and new customers what they cannot find anywhere else," MB Oil offers "MB Oil Service Plus." This program offers businesses the option of on-site fueling of their company vehicles and equipment. This option can save a company time and money by eliminating the need for visits to a fueling center. MB Oil Service Plus trucks can fill individual vehicles overnight - meaning vehicles are ready to go first thing in the morning! MB Oil is looking
to expand their services in the future, including providing services
